ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
AIR CONDITION TECHNICIAN
(Reports to: Operations Manager)
Job Objective:
To ensure on a daily basis that all air conditioning systems at the centre are operational and that the temperature in all conference rooms, offices and common areas is adequate, in keeping with the company’s service objectives.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regularly inspect, maintain, and repair AC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including electrical, mechanical, and control system problems.
- Assist in the installation of new AC systems or upgrades as needed, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Monitor the AC systems using building management systems or other means to maintain desired temperature and air quality in conference rooms, offices and lobbies.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing work, ensuring a safe environment for staff, clients and guests.
- Work closely with other maintenance staff, event coordinators, and management to meet specific cooling needs for the Centre.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and operational efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service to staff, clients and guests, addressing concerns about temperature control and air quality promptly.
- Assist in monitoring energy usage and suggest improvements for energy efficiency to reduce operational costs.
- On an ongoing basis remain up to date on all new cooling products being provided in the market place, which the company can financially benefit from using.
- As required provide relief support to the other positions in the company in cases of absence or work overload.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management.

Minimum Qualifications
An ordinary Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning with five (5) years’ experience. Experience with chilled water systems is required. The successful candidate should have access to a vehicle and a valid Lights Goods license.
Remuneration and Benefits
Salary will be based on experience and qualifications. The company also offers a pension plan, as well as group health and life insurance upon successful completion of probationary period.
