If you missed Mahalia’s Corner 2018 season opener with the Caribbean Soca Queen Allison Hinds, you missed an incredible show. Not only did the crowd enjoy this electric performance as was seen from the standing ovations and screams of delight, they were treated to local talent Kweku Jelani who thrilled the crowd with his singing and showmanship on the trumpet. Other performers in the Open Mic segment included Melissa Goddard who delivered a stirring spoken word piece called Convocation, Akelee Hall who strummed our heart strings with his guitar, Nark with his interpretation of ‘Ordinary People’ and Jamie who thrilled with her vocals on ‘Best Part’. Of course the night would not have been complete without the band that has made it all happen 2 Mile Hill lead by Mahalia, who as always performed like the bosses they are.
The coming weeks will be equally as exciting as the season features a fantastic line up of artist including John Yarde, Alix Cage, Raphael Saul, Ch’an, Mighty Gabby and to top it all off Kerwin Dubois.
